We are planning to adopt this baby girl. She’s due May 10. Her name is Catherine Anna and we’ll call her Cate.

Long story somewhat short: My sister found out an 18-year-old girl she knows wanted to give her baby up for adoption and ended up putting us in touch with each other. This was right at Christmas. Details started to come together this past Wednesday and then Greg and I went to Bloomington, Ind., on Thursday to meet with the birthmother and see this amazing ultrasound. The birthmother is 25 weeks or so pregnant.

About Me

Kristin Hill Taylor Headshot

Telling stories is my therapy, and I love sharing them with friends on my porch. God authors the stories on our porches and wherever we go.

The main characters in my stories are my entrepreneur husband, our college girl, our high school boy, and our fourth-grade girl. As we live out our stories, we seek God as the author of them all.

I loved being at the @westkyfca2 Kick-Off Dinner l I loved being at the @westkyfca2 Kick-Off Dinner last night, especially with this awesome group representing @ncca.lions in various capacities: Athletic director, board members, teachers, directors, coaches, volunteers, parents, and one of our two first-ever student FCA leaders.

Many of you know my story: I fell into athletics because I had a daughter who played basketball, Iโ€™m good with spreadsheets, and I hung around NCCA long enough that I got put to work. All of that morphed into becoming New Covenantโ€™s athletic director, eventually. We started with cross country and then added archery and basketball. Now we have seven varsity sports with opportunities for middle and elementary students too.

Last year we added @kentuckyfca to the mix. You may wonder why a Christian school needs more Jesus, but (spoiler) Jesus wins and that changes everything, including our student-athletes. Being able to equip middle & high school athletes to use their sports as tools to share the gospel has been such a blessing. And Iโ€™m excited for this partnership to develop even more.

I share about this partnership in our 2026-27 All-Sports Program, which still has opportunities for local advertisements. Iโ€™d love for you to be able to come alongside NCCA Athletics so more students can see that Jesus already won, and that changes EVERYTHING.

Twenty-four years ago, Greg and I said, "I do." Th Twenty-four years ago, Greg and I said, "I do." Thankfully, we both keep saying, "I do." These days we say it more with our actions, like him helping me unload the dishwasher or clean out the pool skimmers. But we also keep doing this life together, even when it's filled with speed bumps, jump-scare obstacles, and new adventures.

Our anniversary was actually a week ago, but I haven't gotten this post from my brain & Notes app on my phone to my website. Such is life right now.

After two dozen years of marriage, I thought Iโ€™d share 24 things Iโ€™ve learned from my marriage to Greg. I recognize marriages are different, but this is a glimpse into us and what God, in all his goodness and faithfulness, has taught us.

Most of these 5th-7th graders played in their first game last night, and it was so fun! Yes, winning two games in two sets each is fun, but, more importantly, they were brave to do something new and great teammates to each other. Plus NMMS Volleyball was such fun company!

Hereโ€™s to a new season! Letโ€™s go, Lady Lions! ๐Ÿ๐Ÿฆ
Iโ€™ve been at home for 44 straight hours, and I onl Iโ€™ve been at home for 44 straight hours, and I only left this evening because I wanted to go out to dinner.

This summer has been full of time with my (almost) fifth-grader, enjoying my very lived-in house, and renewed perspective. Iโ€™m so grateful, but I donโ€™t know how itโ€™s already August.

So we are going to soak in a little more summer before a routine comes calling.

For 3,087 consecutive days, I opened and scrolled For 3,087 consecutive days, I opened and scrolled through TimeHop, often before I even got out of bed.

I'd scroll through old photos, smile at forgotten memories, and text friends screenshots of moments we'd shared. I love creating side-by-side, then-and-now comparisons. I'm deeply grateful for where God has brought me, my marriage, and my family. I love seeing my now-grown kids with their baby faces and remembering friendships that have stretched across so many years.

Remembering is a gift. But somewhere along the way, TimeHop also became a habit that quietly made me sad.

I was super hesitant to study Revelation this summ I was super hesitant to study Revelation this summer with some of my favorite friends. I suggested other options, and even ordered another option. But as God would have it, the seemingly complicated Book of Revelation was the plan.

โ€œRevelationโ€ means โ€œthe act of making a secret fact known, a surprising piece of news, or a divine message from God.โ€ And this 10-week @jenwilkin study that we stretched a little longer was, well, full of revelations for me personally.

This summer has been difficult emotionally and mentally for me. Iโ€™d tell you more about why, but Iโ€™m not entirely sure. I am grieving what I thought would be and missing people whose schedules just arenโ€™t in sync with mine.

Iโ€™ve told the friends who gathered around my porch table most weeks that Iโ€™m so glad I ended up doing this study with them at this time. I finished the study and videos this morning, and weโ€™ll have our last discussion this week.

The faithfulness of God became even clearer to me while studying this book that brings so many things full circle and leaves with a hope I didnโ€™t know before.

โœจ โ€œNo longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.โ€ โ€” Revelation 22:3-5

Until then, I want to remember what God has done all around me and look forward to the day when we see His face and worship Him forever. ๐Ÿ’›

So, who wants one? For real. Message me for more info.

I love a book list, so I'm going to assume you do I love a book list, so I'm going to assume you do too.

I've kept a running list of books I've read and where/how I got them. As much as I love a hardback book, I find myself reading more on my Kindle these days out of convenience. So far this year, I've read more romance (16 of the 36 total), and that is followed by thrillers (11). Non-fiction has been almost non-existent for me this year.

Without further ado, here are the books of 2026, so far:

Denali National Park ๐ŸซŽ๐Ÿ”๏ธ๐Ÿถโœจ Our first day at Denal Denali National Park ๐ŸซŽ๐Ÿ”๏ธ๐Ÿถโœจ

Our first day at Denali National Park was really fun! Itโ€™s so remote that itโ€™s not like Yellowstone or even Glacier with all the people in the summer. Plus we had beautiful weather.

We visited the working dogs that rangers use to patrol the park, especially in the winter when so many parts arenโ€™t accessible by roads. Then we did a tour of the background just outside of the park with Denali ATV Adventures. We had a six-seater ATV for just our crew and then two guides in their own ATV and another couple in theirs. It was basically like a private tour, and so fun!

After the ATV tour, we happened upon a golf course down the road. Ben really wanted to say he played golf in Alaska, so he and Greg squeezed in some holes at Black Diamond Golf Course. While the girls and I were having a snack on the porch there, a worker asked us if weโ€™d been to the petting zoo. My immediate response was, โ€œRight here?โ€ Yep. Right behind the restaurant and clubhouse was a petting zoo with goats, miniature horses and cows, rabbits, and sheep. So random, but Rachel especially had the best time!

That night we went to the Cabin Nite Dinner Theatre at Denali Park Village, which was across the street from our cabin. The ribs, salmon, family-style sides, and berry cobbler were so good! And the show about Denali and what brought people there was funny and entertaining.

The next day in Denali, we took a bus 43 miles into the park, which is farther than possible in a private vehicle. I wish we had more time to explore, especially once we got to East Fork riverbed, but we had a plane to catch.

Sort of. We stopped at Wasilla on our way back to Anchorage to watch the World Cup game at Tailgaters Sports Bar & Grill. We flew out at 10:45 pm Alaska time and remain confused about what day it is!

Just outside of Anchorage, the boys fished on Knik River from the late morning into the afternoon, so the girls and I had our own fun. We went to the Williams Reindeer Farm, lunched at Turkey Red, and got dessert at Vagabond Blues.

Then we drove up toward Hatcher Pass before picking up the boys and heading to Denali National Park.

We got off the ship in Seward, which is a couple of hours from Anchorage. We took @welcomeanchoragetour that was also our transport. Along the way we stopped at so many great places, including Lowell Point, Exit Glacier overlook, The Inn at Whittier for lunch, Portage Valley, Byron Glacier trailhead, and Alaskan Wildlife Conservation Center.

Our guide was excellent and this was a great was to learn the area and get to where we needed to go. We stayed at the Hyatt Place in Anchorage that night and had dinner The Bear Paw Bar & Grill because it was in walking distance but also turned out to be delicious!

I did three loads of laundry at the hotel, and Rachel swam.

Further north, this port looked different than the others with more dramatic mountains and views.

We had a tour that took us to learn about and meet sled dogs then through the White Pass to Fraser, British Columbia, Canada. We rode up on a bus and down on a scenic train. So beautiful!

We had lunch at the Salty Siren near the port. I continued my streak of seafood at least once every day!
