Gift ideas for men

I’ve got a husband and a teenage son. I grew up with a dad and a brother. Regardless of my experience, buying gifts for men of any age can be difficult. Surely I’m not alone!
Here are five gift-giving ideas for the men in your life. If nothing else, they should give you some inspiration as the holidays approach.
Experiences
This is up there for me generally – men, women, kids! I’ve bought my husband tickets to concerts and ballgames. We’ve gone on anniversary trips. My son had a 13th birthday party at a Memphis Grizzlies game and a 14th birthday at Top Golf.
One way of gifting someone you love quality time is through an experience day. Unlike other gifts, experiences are great ways to spend time together and make lasting memories. Experiences work for various budgets too because there are so many possibilities.
Custom knives
We live in the country and my boys like outdoor toys, such as hatchets, tools, and custom-engraved knives. A personalized knife is an especially good gift for groomsmen, dads, and high school graduates who are gaining independence, because it’s both meaningful and practical.
Exercise tracker
If you want to buy a gift for a man who enjoys fitness, then an Apple Watch or Fitbit is a great way to encourage health. Of course, that workout counts whether it is documented on the tracker, but there’s something satisfying about meeting step goals and closing rings.
Gift cards
Gift cards can seem like generic gifts to me, but I also love the freedom that comes with them. Find a favorite clothing or hobby store that your husband, brother, or teenager would enjoy shopping for themselves and bless them that way. In my house, Academy Sports, Walmart, and Amazon are popular choices.
Subscriptions
Giving someone a subscription to something that shows up in the mailbox over and over is a good way to extend the blessing. For men, think about what they like. Here are some subscriptions I’ve enjoyed that may be a good fit: Book of the Month. Pretzel of the Month Club. Mark Rober’s Crunch Labs. Magazines.
Here’s to loving our people well – even if you need extra inspiration for the men in your life.
