Shall we start with the cliche? I CAN NOT BELIEVE YOU’RE 7!
But this past year you’ve found your place in our family, sandwiched between your two sisters. Your adventurous ways have rubbed off on Rachel, but you still protect her and have her best interest in mind. Meanwhile, you and Cate have found some common ground as friends, although you still like to pester her. I tell her that’s how you love her!
You’re a good brother sandwich, BLT.
You’re brave and loyal. You make friends easily and never run out of ideas. You like to build things and are becoming a good reader. You like to discover how things work and often leave a trail of your things. And you’re always ready for an adventure, which is why I didn’t worry you’d be disappointed when we had to change your party plan the day before.
I don’t always understand boys, but I’m glad God chose me be your mom. You’re all boy and you teach me so much! And, really, even though I fail sometimes, I wouldn’t want it any other way.
Your life is a testimony to God’s faithfulness, and I love telling you about how we became four when you were born. I’m excited to see what God does with your energy and leadership. I know you’re going to do great things, my boy. So keep going and exploring and discovering and loving and playing and building and adventuring.
I’m guessing you’ll make friends and strangers smile and laugh along the way.
I love you,
