6. Settlers of Catan

November 6, 2008 by Kristin Leave a Comment

I’m thankful for this game. It’s seriously fun. And I’m thankful my Aunt Carolyn (and family …) taught me to play nearly two years ago. We quickly taught our friends Jaclyn + Bryan. Now we play regularly, like once a week. And if we miss a week, we’re all eager to play. Yes, like an addiction. But it’s a good time with good friends.

Oh, and there are other games that spin-off this game that are also fun. Seafarers of Catan + Cities and Knights are the other two we play sometimes. But we like Settlers because we can play three or four games in one sitting, usually with small breaks to tend to our kids.

Another comment on games: I’ve recently learned Carcassonne, which has made it to my fun list. But nothing quite tops Settlers.

Seriously, how are your games so short? Other than the time we played at your house, every time I’ve played it’s been 2 1/2 hours (or more).

    P.S. I’m thankful you taught us…

About Me

Telling stories is my therapy and love sharing with friends on my porch.

The main characters in my stories are my entrepreneur husband, our fifth-grade girl who never forgets, our have-no-fear second-grade boy, and our joy-filled toddler girl. As we live out our stories, we seek God as the author of them all.
